Over the rivers (the Potomac and the Shenandoah) and through the woods (Appalachian Trail and C & O Canal National Historic Park) to our new location we have gone.  Our new location is not that physically far from our previous location in Bowie, MD, but it is a whole different world:

We're thrilled to be in Shepherdstown, with a nice view of the Blue Ridge Mountains behind the trees, as you can see in the photo above.

Bowie, the town we came from, is the 4^th largest city in Maryland, and considered a suburb of Washington DC.  It’s totally suburban.

Shepherdstown is a town of a bit over 900 people, and not a suburb of anything. 

In Bowie, morning is signaled by an increase in traffic noise from route 50.  In Shepherdstown, morning is when you watch the sun rise over the Blue Ridge Mountains.

In Bowie the garden was eaten by bunnies and chipmunks.  Here it will be eaten by groundhogs and deer. Here is another view, from the side of the house:
